Freddie Strickland
Freddie Strickland is an award-winning garden and landscape designer based in Bristol, working on projects across the UK and abroad.
Crowned RHS Young Designer of the Year 2021 for his gold medal-winning garden On Tropic at Tatton Park, the project demonstrated a recurring theme throughout his work; how gardens can adapt to a changing climate. The garden also received the award for Best Construction in Show.
Originally from London, Freddie traded city life for the Cornish coast, where he studied Fine Art at Falmouth University and later trained in Garden and Landscape Design at the Eden Project. His years in the South West continue to inspire his design philosophy, rooted in an appreciation for the natural landscape and a commitment to sustainability.
Freddie’s work has been recognised nationally, including in Country and Town House magazine’s “20 Finest Garden Designers 2023” and Pro Landscaper’s “30 Under 30: The Next Generation”.
Alongside a small but dedicated team, Freddie Strickland Gardens creates landscapes that connect people with nature, offering beauty, balance and moments of escape. We take pride in understanding each client’s brief and designing gardens that celebrate plants, sustainability and natural materials. These elements are brought together with creativity and craftsmanship to form spaces that feel both contemporary and enduring.
